I have a lot of people in the entertainment business that are my clients so I have to work at an office in downtown LA.
Real estate is too expensive to buy a house in Los Angeles, so my wife and I live in a house in Tarzana.
This neighborhood is located about 30 minutes away from downtown Los Angeles. On my morning commute, it always takes closer to an hour. A lot of people live in places like Tarzana but work in Los Angeles. My wife and I were living in an apartment until we had our second child and then we decided to move. When we moved to Tarzana, it was a very quiet suburban area with very little crime. Ever since recreational and marijuana was legalized, the quality of living in Tarzana has gone downhill. I don’t have any problem with people that use recreational or medical marijuana. In fact, my wife and I have been known to hit a joint at a party. Unfortunately, the city is getting bigger and people are moving away to cheaper places. In a couple of years, Tarzana isn’t going to be a place where I want to retire. After my kids are out of the house and off to college, I think it might be time for my wife and I to move away from the city completely. I would happily retire and move to San Jose or Morgan Hill. Both of these places are a bit further north, but the real estate is cheaper and the weather is extremely nice.
