When I joined college, I was not ready for the responsibilities that lay ahead.
Indeed, that first year in school was spent in parties and stuff.
But, by the second year, the reality was hitting me hard. My dad had cut me off, and I had to find a way to make a living while in school. It was the wake-up call I’d needed at the time to get my life together. There was no need to worry about growing up since life kept moving forward. After graduation, my friend moved to San Francisco for work after landing a great opportunity. I was still back east when she called me a month later with good news. Another company in their place of work had an opening that was perfect for me. There was not much I was doing, so I packed my things and moved. She had me stay with her for some time until I got a place of my own. But we both knew we would be best suited as roommates. San Francisco was quite a fascinating place to me. People were more lively and even wore summer clothes even when it was a bit chilly out. Another thing I loved was the fact that marijuana was legal, and there was no shortage of dispensaries to grab my favorite varieties. We’d spend weekends exploring and get to know different attractions in the area. Another bonus was the city had one heck of lively nightlife! It was not hard to find a club open and ready to allow us to have a fun night dancing just like we’d done in college. But we made sure we were never late for work or hangovers come Monday morning.
