During the Summer months, I try to find activities to keep the kids busy… I do not want them sitting inside that home all afternoon.
The kids do not adore to go outside when it’s severely sizzling & humid, however I do not want them to rest inside of the home with the A/C running all afternoon.
I often take the kids to the Aquatic Center in Albuquerque when it is sizzling & humid. The kids & I can swim all afternoon for $5. The Albuquerque swimming center has a sizable pool with lap Lanes, diving boards, & a venue for the children to play. I also take the kids to the library during the summer. The venue has air conditioner & lots of books that are free to read & Alice. The kids & I often rest at the library for thirds when the outdoor hot & cold temperatures are less than ideal, but last Summer, the kids & I were at the library when the ductwork fell to the ground. The two of us were sitting in the studying Nook when I heard a loud crashing sound come from the other room. The kids & I got up hastily & moved to the other room. In the middle of the room was a sizable pile of drywall & ductwork. The loud sound was the ductwork falling through the ceiling. Thankfully there wasn’t anyone laying under the section that fell. The gratifieds from the ductwork fell on top of the bookshelves. There was dust & dirt in the air & on all of the surfaces. The librarian closed down the library after that & sent everyone apartment so they could repair the damages to the ductwork.
