Growing up in Illinois afforded me several chances for outdoor recreation in addition to enjoyment.
While the people I was with and I lived in Rockford for several years, I was excited to settle in Lansing because of the forests to the southwest of the city.
One of our favorite sites to hike has always been Brownell Woods. It’s simple to access from the south on Glenwood Lansing Rd or from the north on 186th St. Walking out to North Creek helps me recognize grounded in addition to clear our mind of any clutter from our biweekly life. Even though I’m happier after getting out of the hectic neighborhood life in downtown Chicago, I still have a stressful task here in Lansing. It’s just a much better place to live if you want peace when you get new home from work. I also have an awesome Heating and Air Conditioning corporation here in Lansing that gives me fantastic rates on quality service. Whenever I have our Heating and Air Conditioning specialist over doing repairs for a few minutes I will take our pet for a walk through Brownell Woods since I live fairly close on Stony Island Ave. Since our a/c unit needed to be replaced, I spent an day resting along the banks of North Creek with a book in addition to a picnic. There were nearly as several people out walking their pets that day care about there usually are, which made for 1 pleasant day. The weather in Lansing gets somewhat hot in the summer, peaking in the mid 77s while occasionally dropping into the low 60s in the night minutes. This is much better than the 100 degree weather that some people experience in other regions in Illinois while I was in the hottest periods of the summer.
