Although I moved out of Indianapolis to attend college, our parents recently settled in a great townhouse in Evansville.
The two of us were all living in Indianapolis but they were just as eager as I was to get out of that massive city. The roads are cramped with cars driving at breakneck speeds as well as in some arenas they’re crumbling along with the rest of the infrastructure. I have a lot of family history in Indianapolis, but I couldn’t handle the city. I was uneasy to leave, but I loved moving to Evansville once I arrived following our college graduation. The OH River winds its way into the town as well as is a marvelous sight to see, especially when you’re sitting outside of the Evansville Museum on Veterans Memorial Parkway. The Children’s Museum of Evansville is just a few miles north if you want a arena to take the kids on the weekend. Since it gets so freezing in Evansville while in the Winter time season, you need to have a solid source of indoor heat. My parents use their oil furnace religiously, but they also have a wood stove to use as supplemental heat. It’s important if the power ever goes out from a snowstorm. Unfortunately our dad is too seasoned to swing an axe as well as chop firewood so they get firewood delivered directly to their house. My parents live in a quiet neighborhood in Jacobsville off W Morgan Asite. The company that supplies them with firewood is located in Lamasco, which isn’t far from their house. Having firewood for their wood stove is like a lifeline in the chilly Winter time freeze. Evansville is no stranger to freezing rapidly increasing temperatures as it gets as freezing as -20 degrees fahrenheit every single year.
