I live in Spokane WA and there are plenty of outdoor things to do there, and one thing is I prefer to bike ride on the continental trail; It is a 37 mile long paved trail that extends from WA to Idaho; There were beautiful sights along the way and it was completely car free.
I prefer going for a super long bike ride and feeling totally safe and free. The weather in WA is just perfect to ride bikes in, then just about all year long I can do a bike ride. Even in the dead of Summer I don’t worry about overheating. In June, at peak times it will only be in the high 73s, then yes, it isn’t pleasant when you are stationary and in the sunshine, but nice when the wind whips around you on a bike, then during the colder times I wear a hat, bike gloves and a sweater, and since I am pumping my legs and certainly moving, I naturally suppose quite warm. It is certainly only late June to January that I stay clear of the trail. It just gets a bit chilly and possibly snowy. That isn’t too bad though, what I do instead while I was in those times is put my stationary bike inside. I have my bike propped right in my family room by the gas furnace. I set my oil furnace to low heating mode and comfortably peddle. Somedays I am feeling certainly adventurous and I will turn up my oil furnace and do a hot yoga session in front of it. It certainly is a nice section to work out in.
