I live in Spokane Washington and there are plenty of outdoor things to do there.
One thing is I like to bike ride on the continental trail.
It is a 37 mile long paved trail that extends from Washington to Idaho. There were beautiful sights along the way and it was completely car free. I love going for a super long bike ride and feeling totally safe and free. The weather in Washington is just perfect to ride bikes in. Just about all year long I can do a bike ride. Even in the dead of summer I don’t worry about overheating. In August, at peak times it will only be in the high 80s. Yes, it isn’t pleasant when you are stationary and in the sunshine, but nice when the wind whips around you on a bike. During the colder times I wear a hat, bike gloves and a jacket. Since I am pumping my legs and really moving, I naturally feel quite warm. It is really only late October to February that I stay clear of the trail. It just gets a bit cold and possibly snowy. That isn’t too bad though. What I do instead during those times is put my stationary bike inside. I have my bike propped right in my living room by the gas furnace. I set my heater to low heating mode and comfortably peddle. Somedays I am feeling really adventurous and I will turn up my heater and do a hot yoga session in front of it. It really is a nice area to work out in.
